1. Our approach to privacy
PocketTune is a cloud-synced money manager. Your information — accounts, transactions, categories, tags, goals, bills, and analytics — is securely stored in the cloud so it stays available the moment you log in, on any device. We hold this data responsibly, encrypt it, and use it only to run the service for you.
2. Information we collect
We deliberately keep this short:
- Account credentials — your email address and authentication details, handled by our identity provider (Clerk) to sign you in securely, including optional SSO and two-factor authentication.
- Financial data — accounts, transactions, goals, bills, and tags you create. This is stored securely in the cloud, encrypted in transit and at rest, so it syncs across every device you log in on.
- Device tokens — push notification tokens, used solely to deliver reminders you've asked for.
- Diagnostic data — anonymized, aggregate crash and performance information, which you can disable at any time.
3. How we use your information
We use the limited data above only to operate the service: to authenticate you, deliver notifications and reminders, keep your data synced across the devices you log in on, and improve reliability through anonymized diagnostics. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
4. Encryption & storage
Your financial data is encrypted both in transit (with TLS) and at rest in our cloud, hosted on secure, access-controlled infrastructure. Authentication is managed by our identity provider, with optional two-factor login for an extra layer of protection.
5. Sharing with third parties
We rely on a small set of service providers strictly to run PocketTune, and share only what each needs:
- Clerk — authentication and account management.
- Cloud infrastructure — secure hosting and database for your account and synced data.
- Push providers — Apple and Google push notification services for reminders.
These providers act on our instructions under strict agreements and may not use your data for their own purposes.
6. Your rights & choices
You can access, edit, and delete your data at any time from within the app, and changes sync across your devices right away. You may disable diagnostics and notifications independently. Deleting your account permanently removes your data from PocketTune's cloud.
7. Data retention
Your data is retained in our cloud while your account is active so it's ready whenever you log in, and is permanently deleted shortly after you delete your account, subject to any legal obligations. Anonymized diagnostics are retained only in aggregate.
8. Children's privacy
PocketTune is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.
